About me

Africa puts a magical spell on anyone, especially a nine year old boy. This is exactly what happened to me, when I came to Africa for the first time.
Born in Poland, but bred in Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe, together with my parents-doctors I spent there 8 years. The Black Continent was never out of bounds to me.
Back in Europe – visiting Africa again became my biggest obsession and a life goal. After finishing my university studies (journalism) I could go back to my passion – travels to Black Continent. Small wonder when you consider what it has to offer – unspoilt, palm-lined white beaches, colourful markets, exotic food and the most important – the most generous and friendly African people. Or maybe just a chance to ” get away from it all ” and explore off the beaten track.
At first I traveled by myself. I was six times in Kenya, six times in Tanzania including Zanzibar island, Angola, Malawi, Zambia, Mozambique, Liberia and of course my beloved Zimbabwe. Alone and unarmed I`ve dared six times to the mysterious and little-explored Congo-Kinshasa, the so called Heart of Darkness. I have friends in all those countries. These people illustrate the great diversity of the continent; it can be even shocking sometimes. But on the other hand, this is the main reason for me to come back every time.
I`ve learned some of the local languages, it`s always a help to ease communication.
Several times I`ve taken to Africa those, wishing to see the scenery of my press articles with their own eyes.
I also have a different passion. I collect African art; my collection grows bigger and bigger every passing year. Sometimes, somewhere you can still dare to find genuine, old figures, masks, fetishes, musical instruments or any other artifacts, which never fell into ” the white hands ” yet.
My African childhood as well as personal experiences can make your travels with me real fascinating, providing valuable advice on topics such as how to equip yourself for your trip, how to stay on the right hand of the law, health and safety, money matters, as well as any conditions into and through Africa,
I am sure Africa can be breathtaking for you as well.
